January 22, 2009, 6:30 PM EST (3:30 PST) NOTE special time: Dr. Michael Horton will be on the program to diuscuss his latest book:Christless Christianity: The Alternative Gospel of the American Church. Dr. Michael Scott Horton is Professor of Theology and Apologetics at Westminster Seminary California and is heard regularly on The White Horse Inn radio program, a nationally syndicated, weekly radio talk-show exploring issues of Reformation theology in American Christianity.. He was formerly the president of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, a society of in the Reformation Tradition which "exists to call the twenty-first century church to a reformation that recovers clarity and conviction about the great evangelical truths of the gospel and that then seeks to proclaim these truths powerfully in our contemporary context." He is also the editor-in-chief of Modern Reformation magazine. A covenant theologian and an advocate of infant baptism.
Horton received an M.A. from Westminster Seminary California, a Ph.D. from Wycliffe Hall, Oxford and the Coventry University, and completed a Research Fellowship at Yale Divinity School. He is also an ordained minister in the United Reformed Churches of North America in which denomination he has served two churches in southern California.
January 29, 2009, 7:30 PM EST (4:30 PST): Sam Shamoun will be on to discuss the differences between Christinity and Islam and related issues. In light of the climate we face here in the United States this ought to be a great discussion. Mr. Shamoun is well versed in the Islamic faith and has written extensively on this subject as well as participated in numerous debates with the followers of Islam.
February 4, 2009, 2:00 PM EST (11 AM PST): Covenant Radio will be hosting Dr. Ken Gentry to discuss his research work on the book of Revelation as well as the partial-preterist position of Eschatology. The discussion will survey the book or Revelation as well as the partial-preterist position and various approaches to the book of Revelation.
Dr. Gentry, is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University (B.A., cum laude), Reformed Theological Seminary (M. Div.), Whitefield Theological Seminary (Th. M.; Th. D., summa cum laude). He also attended Grace Theological Seminary for two years, while a dispensationalist.
He has written several books on eschatology, including The Beast of Revelation; Before Jerusalem Fell: Dating the Book of Revelation; He Shall Have Dominion: A Postmillennial Eschatology; and The Greatness of the Great Commission: The Christian Enterprise in a Fallen World. He is a contributor to four eschatological debate books: C. Marvin Pate, ed., Four Views of the Book of Revelation (Zondervan); Darrell L. Bock, ed., Three Views of the End of History (Zondervan); Thomas D. Ice and Kenneth L. Gentry, Jr., The Great Tribulation: Past or Future? (Kregel); and Keith L. Mathison, ed., When Shall These Things Be? A Reformed Response to Hyper-Preterism (P & R).
He also has published other books on a variety of subjects, including creation (Yea, Hath God Said: The Framework Hypothesis / Six Day Creation Debate), abortion (The Christian Case Against Abortion), the Christian view of wine drinking (God Gave Wine), charismatic phenomena (The Charismatic Gift of Prophecy), salvation (Lord of the Saved), and biblical law (God's Law in the Modern World; and Covenantal Theonomy).
